About this app

Drops – The Rain Alarm is an app to do with one of the favourite talking points: the weather. More particularly the rain. Its sole task is to let you know when the rain is about to start, albeit with a bit of warning, in your area. Or anywhere else you’d like to know about.

Drops – The Rain Alarm can tell you at a glance exactly when it will rain up to two hours in advance. With down-to-the-minute forecasts, you’ll know exactly when the rain will start or stop, right where you're standing.

What Drops – The Rain Alarm offers you:
- Receive down-to-the-minute alerts before it starts raining at your exact location!
- An accurate precipitation forecast for the next two hours
- An interactive rainfall radar map
- Extensive 14-day weather forecast

As a weather app it's pretty good. The combination of graph for upcoming rain and easy access to radar is goo. Unfortunately the notifications are hit and miss. Whether it's the app or a remote service I don't know. I have wondered if the app has been put to sleep by Android but notifications can come through even after the phone has been sat on a shelf for several hours.

Like the app, think its purpose is spot on. But for at least 6 mo ths now I think the maps might be off for the Carribean area. Personally my comments are based from my experience here on the island of Curacao. The clouds almost always seems to be off. Maybe worth a check. Thanks for the app and the service, I hope it can be fixed or checked.

Don't use this until it has been improved. The 2 hour and 24 views do not overlap which leads to unnecessary and distracting switching between the two views. It would have been easy to get this right but the developers appear to have abandoned further improvements.

In the 2-hour graph we use the data from observations from measuring stations, in the 24-hour graph we use a mix of forecast models, as there is no information of measuring stations yet. This explains difference between 2 + 24 hr. graph. We're working on improvement on this. greetings from the Drops Team
